Before Michael Jordan released his first signature shoe, the Nike Dunks were the shoe of choice, and they did just fine. First released as a high top in 1985, the Nike Dunk blessed the basketball scene and took the game to a whole new level. It came in a multitude of colorways, and was also released in team colors of superior college basketball teams. During the 1985-86 NCAA tournament, it was worn by topped rank universities such as Syracuse, Michigan, UNLV, and Arizona. It was easy to coordinate with team colors, as they came with different colored laces and a matching shoebox.

When the Nike Foamposite One first dropped in 1997, it was like nothing no one had ever seen before but people wore it in some impressive performances. The sleek $180 shoe had no Nike branding on the upper, save a small Swoosh near the toe, and the synthetic upper and prominent carbon plate gave the shoe a decidedly futuristic look, one that many sneaker designers still strive to achieve. Chuck Taylor All Stars, or Converse All Stars, also referred to as "Converses", "Chuck Taylors", "All Stars", "Chucks" or "Cons",are canvasand rubber shoes produced by Converse. They were first produced in 1917 as the "All Star," Converse's attempt to capture the basketball shoe market.Chuck Taylor, a basketball player and shoe salesman for Converse, improved the shoe's design and became the product's spokesperson in the 1920s.

AIR JORDAN XII The Air Jordan XII is the 12th Air Jordan sneaker and released in 1996. It was designed by Tinker Hatfield and the design was inspired by the 'Rising Sun' of Japan. The most memorable Air Jordan XII is the 'Flu Game' Black/Red colorway, which Michael wore during the 1997 NBA Finals while having the flu. Released on September 22, 2012 for the Nike+ model, and on October 10, 2012 for the regular model, this model featured the most advanced Nike technologies, including the Hyperfuse upper, Dynamic Flywire that was seen first in Nike's Hyperdunk 2012, the first time in Nike Zoom's history, a full-length Max Zoom unit, Nike also incorporated Nike+ Basketball system from the Nike Lunar Hyperdunk+ 2012. Such technological advances had the price increased, from $170 to $180 for the regular model, $290 for the Nike+ model with Nike+ Sportpack, and $200 for the Nike+ model without Nike+ Sportpack. Rumors spread months before its release, notably during the 2012 Olympic Games held in London that the Nike+ model had a $315 price tag. The most notable colorway is the EXT "Cork" with an upper made of cork material and premium leather. The MSRP for the Cork Lebrons was originally set for $305, but Foot Locker made it clear that the price would be $250. Since the release date, the shoe's price has gradually increased, selling on eBay from $600-$4000 depending on the shoe size, condition, and time of purchase. A post-season model released on April 20, 2013 for the Nike+ model and on April 27, 2013 for the regular model. Retail price for the Nike+ model is $280 and $260 for the regular model.

How To Make It has put together an exclusive interview with Dylan Raasch, who is the designer of the Nike Roshe Run. The simple and unassuming sneaker has turned into quite the hit for Nike since its release this season. Although tasked with designing running sneakers for NSW, Raasch was not held to designing something that is performance driven. 1. JORDAN 7

The Air Jordan VII was released in 1992 with a new design by Tinker Hatfield. This shoe introduced the huarache technology which allowed the shoes to better conform to the user's foot. A few things were no longer featured on the new model, such as the visible air sole, the Nike Air logo, and the yellowing soles. This was the first Air-Jordan in the line that did not have any distinctive "Nike Air" on the outer portions of the shoe. The "Nike Air" can be found on the in-soles. The VIIs were also known for a successful ad campaign in which Buggs Bunny appeared alongside Michael Jordan in an ad campaign to market the shoes.
When Jordan went to compete at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics to play for the US Men's Basketball Team (also known as the "Dream Team"), Nike released a special Olympic color combo of the Air Jordan VII model which had Jordan's Olympic jersey number, 9 even though most of the jordans that were made, especially the Air Jordan VII had a "23" on the back.
Various models of the Air Jordan VII were re-released in 2002, again in 2004, and again with different colors in 2006. Also in 2008 Nike released a black and blue pair owned only by Cheikh Mbacké, ordered for $600.[11]
In 2011 the Air Jordan VII saw releases in the "Orion" and "Bordeaux" colorways. Other colorways are confirmed for a 2011 release as well, such as the "Cardinals" which is a re-release and "Year of the Rabbits". The "Olympic" and "Charcoal" (commonly referred to as Raptors) were re-released in 2012.
The Air Jordan VII was originally released in 1992. It was retroed in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.
